Following the success of the special issue on Modality and evidentiality in European languages, Kalbotyra (ISSN 1392–1517) invites submission of papers for a special issue Current issues in corpus-based contrastive research to be published in 2017. The special issue aims to collect contributions which apply state of the art corpus tools to analyse semantic, pragmatic, rhetorical or any other textual aspect of two or more languages or varieties of the same language (for example, World Englishes). We welcome both synchronic and diachronic studies that are based on parallel or comparable corpora.

The language of papers submitted for publication is English.

The international journal of linguistics Kalbotyra focuses on synchronic and diachronic research into various aspects of language studies. Important dates:

  • Intent to submit (with a preliminary title and 100 word abstract): February 28th, 2017
  • Submission deadline:  July 30th, 2017
  • Notification of acceptance/rejection: September 15th, 2017
  • Expected Publication: December 2017

All papers will be reviewed by at least two anonymous reviewers following the double blind refereeing procedure.
