Santrauka

The prayer book of Polish–Lithuanian Tatars was written in 1808 in the Tatar language in the Arabic graphic with an admixture of Arabic and Persian turns. The keeping of the book is exposed, the architectonics of the text and the structural features of the code – a correlation of the size of binding and the book’s block, the form of binding counterfoil, the method of sewing the block, the methods of fastening the end-paper and decorating the skin – were analysed. A mixture of European and Eastern traditions of creating a book was exposed. Coming from marginal inscriptions and stamps, the historical aspects of the ownership of the Hamail were revealed to emir Wacław Rzewuski; to a certain pan Belyak; to a participant of the Daszewo battle in 1831; to the collector W. Baworowski, and also to two unknown persons.
