Abstract

The aim of the study: to systematize the main groups of legal measures used to protect the constitutional order of the state in Lithuania. The subject of the study: concept of militant democracy, manifestations of the concept in Lithuanian legal system. This article examines the theoretical foundations of militant democracy, analyses Lithuanian normative legal acts to reveal the means of militant democracy applied in the Lithuanian legal system, and assesses their compliance with established scientific doctrine. Their connection with the Constitution as well as their shared systematic structure are analysed. In the Lithuanian legal system, the means of militant democracy are not very widely developed, but in recent years, ordinary legal means have been increasing. It should be noted that these new provisions do not fully correspond to the ideas formulated in the doctrine.
