Abstract

The technical problems of sending Lithuanian texts by electronic mail and their solutions using MIME protocol are shortly discussed. Comparative analysis of three code tables: ISO 8859-13, Windows-1257 and ISO 8859-4 mostly used in Lithuanian electronic mail is presented. The code tables are compared according to their standardization status, character sets and prelevance in software. It is shown that the code table ISO 8859-13 has the best perspective.
